While large disasters capture the headlines, it is more important than ever to support your local Red Cross in their daily work. In just the last year, Red Cross chapters around the country have responded to more than 70,000 disasters, such as house and apartment fires.

What's with the "Annie retirement fund" ad I saw in the paper?

We're starting up a special donation program to bring our CPR equipment up to date.

Our resuscitation training mannequins (Annie's for short)  have a normal lifespan of 3 years of training use. Through repair and meticulous maintenance, we've managed to stretch that lifespan out to eight years.

But now, they're in need of replacement.

To designate your gift to go specifically towards replacing our complement of CPR training mannequins, please designate "Annie retirement fund" on your donation.
